A StopPoliticalCalls.org member reports receiving a Robo Push Poll in the state of Washington against Obama.

This is an interesting evolution of robo calls and technology.  Increasingly, campaigns are outsourcing not only volunteer phone calls but also the paid push polling or telemarketing that was, in the past, done by live telemarketers.  

What:  An interactive push poll.

Who:  McCain.  Caller id was - 7032630619 / AIC2008RES

AIC = Americans In Contact, a right wing PAC.

Against:  Obama

When and where:  10/24 in Washington State.  Tieton, WA

It said it was initially a survey, but then it quickly became an ad about how Barack Obama would raise our taxes and take our money.

Yes definitely automated.  As soon as I picked up the phone the voice said it was conducting a 45-second political survey.  It asked me if I was going to vote, who I was going to vote for and if I thought the economy was an important issue for the next president.  It then went on to say that Barack Obama got more money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac than any candidate and that he was responsible for having one of the Fannie Mae executives on his campaign.  There was much more about how he would raise my taxes and make the economy worse.  I hung up when it started going on about how John McCain was our going to be our savior.
