- Nevada (10/23): "Barack Obama's Nevada campaign office today announced it will be making a series of telephone "robo-calls" for Latino voters in response to what it says are "disturbing" calls aimed at Latino voters that tell them they can vote by phone. The Democrats said their robo-call messages, which will be in English and Spanish, will encourage Latino voters to cast their ballots in person, either by voting early or at polling places on Election Day, Nov. 4." "I am supporting Barack Obama because he's the better choice for military families and veterans," McLeod says in the call, citing votes on benefits, time off, and equipment for troops. - NC (10/31): The phone rang today and Stevie Wonder’s “I Just Called to Say I Love You” was playing when I picked up the receiver. But the lyrics ended after “I just called to say” and then Stevie Wonder added “vote for Barack Obama.” First robocall I’ve ever gotten from a Motown star. As reported on this blog.

- PA (11/02): Jimmy Rollins. The Phillies shortstop has recorded a robo-call with the attention-grabbing intro: "Hi, this is Jimmy Rollins of the World Championship Philadelphia Phillies." Rollins goes on to say he's calling for U.S. Sen. Barack Obama and invites everyone on the other end of the line to a Monday evening rally in South Philly's Marconi Plaza. U.S. Sen. Joe Biden and his wife are scheduled to attend. The robo-call ends with a notice that it was paid for by the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. Click here for the story.
