• From NY.  (9/7) Hillary Clinton robos for get out the vote.  "The Sixth Assembly primary is getting a lot of attention. Gov. David Paterson stumped Friday for Ramos, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is doing robo-calls to get out the vote for the incumbent, while a laundry list of unions knocked on doors this weekend. Levy has endorsed Cabrera because Ramos was part of a minority caucus last year that delayed renewal of Suffolk's $300-million sales tax. But in the face of other stalled county bills in Albany, some party sources say Levy has backed off."

• Nebraska (9/16):  A McCook city council candidate is apologizing in advance of an automated campaign phone call to be placed later this week. Mike O'Dell says the call addresses important local issues and was the only method that made economic sense. Click here for the article. 
• (A) Georgia (9/16):  America's Most Wanted Host John Walsh makes a robo call for a local council race in Dunwoody, GA.  City council candidate Mallard Holliday has put out a last minute robo-call to Dunwoody voters, in which John Walsh of "America's Most Wanted" endorses him. • (A) Virginia (9/23):  VA GOP robocalling Northern Virginia voters.  Several residents of Northern Virginia report they received an automated call last night that critcizes the Democratic Party and Sen. Barack Obama for wasteful spending. • Florida (9/30):   Tallahassee residents received anti-Amendment 2 robo calls from Leon County Commissioner Bob Rackleff. The proposal would define marriage as between a man and a woman, something already in state law. Click here for the article.
• (A) North Carolina (10/2): A robocall criticizes Kay Hagan over the state budget. The automated call by the Associated Builders and Contractors' Free Enterprise Alliance, a Washington-based advocacy group for construction companies, attacks the Democratic Senate candidate over her handling of the state budget.  Click here for the article with a link to audio of the call.
• Kentucky (10/3):  Robo calls target Kathy Stein in 13th District.  Voters in Fayette County began getting automated phones Friday criticizing Democratic state Senate candidate Kathy Stein and calling her "an angry, bitter person."  Click here for the article.
• North Carolina (10/6):  A robo call praises U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole on offshore drilling. The Associated Builders and Contractors' Free Enterprise Alliance is making automated calls to North Carolina voters noting that the Salisbury Republican voted to allow offshore drilling.  Click here for the article.

• North Carolina (10/8):  Former Gov. Jim Hunt is robocalling voters too. An automated call featuring a recording of the four-term governor encourages voters to cast their ballot for a straight Democratic Party ticket. "We all need to work together to win these very close elections and turn North Carolina blue," he says. Click here to read the article.
• Montana (10/9):   Voters around the state received what may be the first of the fall election season's illegal robo-calls Wednesday afternoon from the Montana Democratic Party. The call was in support of Democratic Superintendent of Public Instruction candidate Denise Juneau. Two members of the Tribune staff received the automated call on their cell phones from an "877" number. When they answered, Juneau's recorded voice urged them to vote in the Nov. 4 election. • California (10/9):  Apparently, voters all across the 19th District started receiving mysterious robocalls from a group called "Californians for Jobs & Education".  The calls, of which there are as yet no transcripts available, are in support of Tony Strickland.  Click here for the article.
• Ohio (10/10): A blogger received a robocall from Senator George Voinivich and Senator Sherrod Brown in support of the Clean Ohio enviromental clean-up bonds program.   Click here for the post.

• California (10/13):  San Fransisco Chronicle article. Supervisor Chris Daly, who has been elected by his constituents three times but is viewed as perhaps the least popular politician citywide. The San Francisco Association of Realtors is paying for robocalls in districts One, Three and 11, comparing some of the candidates to Daly. Supervisor Chris Daly. In District Three, voters have received a call from "Sue" from the "San Francisco Homeowners Council" (a group that is an arm of the association).
• Missouri (10/15):  "I've received two more robocalls from "Citizens Taking Charge" (Of what? Mud?) attacking Sam Page, the Democratic Party candidate for Lt. Governor."  Click here for the article.

• MO (10/22):  "A "robo call" making light of state Sen. Chuck Graham’s 2007 arrest for driving while intoxicated is shaking up the race for the 19th Senate District seat.  But numerous people who have contacted the Tribune this week expressed disdain for a call that implies Graham, D-Columbia, and U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., threw a booze-filled party to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the first-term state senator’s DWI arrest." Click here for the story.
• CO (10/23):  "Former U.S. Rep. Bob Beauprez is blanketing the state with recorded calls that take aim at Democratic Senate candidate Mark Udall over issues such as gay marriage and human cloning. The calls are targeted at Catholic voters and in some cases have caused confusion over whether the attacks are backed by the Catholic Church. "I do consider Mark a friend," said Beauprez, who is heading a new group called Informed Catholic Citizens that is paying for the so-called robo-calls."  Click here for the article.
• NJ (10/23):  "As the Third District House race enters its final days, the campaigns of Democrat John Adler and Republican Chris Myers are launching harsh ads and burning up residents' phone lines with automated calls.  Freedom's Watch, a conservative political organization, got in the race in the summer, using automated calls to blame Adler for high gasoline prices. Recently, the group paid for robo-calls saying that because Adler supported a program to give health insurance to the children of working-poor families, he also favored giving free health insurance to illegal immigrants. Adler, in his own robo-calls, denied the allegation. His campaign noted that Myers had supported the same children's health-care program".  Click here for the story.

• (A) GA (10/24):  This one was on behalf of Saxby Chambliss, the Republican incumbent in the U.S. Senate race, and touted this week’s endorsement by the Marietta Daily Journal, which called Chambliss “vital to curbing liberals’ excess.” Reported in the AJC.  Audio and story here.

• AZ (10/24):  “This is county Supervisor Ray Carroll with a call about protecting our kids. Our libraries have become places where adult men watch X-rated video pornography with our kids nearby. We need to put an end to this,” Carroll says. “Supervisor Sharon Bronson voted to let it continue instead of siding with us and our kids. Bronson is out of touch with our families. • NC (10/25): "A group called the N.C. Homeowners Alliance is using a direct-mail campaign and automated phone calls that depict Stan Norwalk, a Democratic candidate for Wake commissioner, as a serial tax raiser. "Did you know Stan Norwalk has never seen a problem he couldn't solve with a new tax?" says a female voice calling herself Kim on one of the alliance's robocalls. "Stan's plan for Wake County includes a new sales tax, increased property taxes and a new real estate transfer tax, also known as a home tax. • (A) NC (10/31):  Dole.  Today The US Chamber of Commerce sent out a robocall all around NC - I got it in CH and I hear folks got it down East as well. It’s about how Dole has fought to make health care more affordable.  As reported at this blog with audio.
• (FL) 10/31:  NOT VERIFIED.   An inaccurate robocall has hit Broward County in this year’s closely contested presidential election, and it has officials at the Elections Office extremely upset. The robocall tells voters that they can vote by phone on Tuesday. The voice identifies herself as Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes. As reported here. And in Wired here.
• (PA (10/31):  NOT VERIFIED.  A robo-call making the rounds in the Pittsburgh region falsely advises listeners that Republicans are scheduled to vote Tuesday, and Democrats must wait until Wednesday, according to people who say they received the calls.  As reported here.
• (DC) (10/31):  Here in the Nation’s Capital, ”Robo-Call Candidate” Michael Brown is not content with sending voters automated phone messages two or three times a day.  As reported here.
• (MN) (10/31):  ILLEGAL.  Coleen Christensen said she has notified the Minnesota Secretary of State and plans to file a complaint with the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office after receiving a robocall attacking a candidate in the state House District 37A race between Shelley Madore, DFL-Apple Valley, and Republican challenger Tara Mack.  As reported here.

• (NC) (11/01):  Incumbent GOP Sen. Elizabeth Dole continued Saturday to question her campaign rival's attendance at a fundraiser hosted by an adviser to an atheist advocacy group. Dole's campaign began sending out automated telephone calls that talks about Democratic state Sen. Kay Hagan and the Godless Americans Political Action Committee. Her campaign said 1.3 million calls are planned through Monday.  As reported by a local NC tv station.
• (NY) (11/02):  Gay baiting. According to an email received from a voter in the Sixth Senate District, which is in western Nassau County on Long Island, voters are being informed that Gay City News supports Democrat Kristen McElroy because "she will vote for gay marriage, and advance the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender agenda in Albany."  Gay City News did not make an endorsement in the Sixth District race.  As reported here.
